Project Overview: Fabrication & Launching of 70.0m OWG (Riveted Truss Bridge) | Bangapani – Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand

CICO successfully executed the fabrication and erection of a 70.0-meter span Open Web Girder (OWG)—a riveted truss bridge structure—at Bangapani, Pithoragarh in the hilly terrain of Uttarakhand. This project was part of a critical infrastructure upgrade, aimed at improving regional connectivity in challenging topography and seismic-prone zones.

The riveted OWG, known for its lightweight yet high-load capacity, required advanced engineering precision. CICO handled the complete fabrication process, including trial assembly, material testing, and stringent quality checks. Due to difficult terrain and elevation, launching the 70.0m span demanded detailed logistical planning and specialized equipment for safe and efficient execution.

Our team deployed high-skill resources and used “Wire Rope and Tower” techniques to ensure precise alignment and stress distribution across the span. All components were fabricated in our yard at our facility and transported under strict safety compliance.
